Peter Slack is a 56 year old, third generation hill farmer in the beautiful Peak District National Park, where he farms dairy cattle and sheep. His speech entitled "I'm Not Lost" gives a hilarious account of the many characters Peter encounters whilst farming in the hills.
After joining the local young farmers club where he met his wife Sylvia, Peter entered and went on to win several speaking competitions within the National Young Farmers Movement. His talent for making people laugh was immediately recognised and he was invited to be guest speaker at a local dinner and from there his speaking career was born. Peter has four children: Matthew, Lydia, Samuel and Olivia, all whom continue to farm, with the exception of Lydia who is following in her father's footsteps and has developed a speaking career of her own. Through word of mouth referrals and recommendations Peter has spoken to audiences from Stockton on Tees to Somerset; from village halls to The Great Hall at St Johns College Cambridge. With sharp, clean and witty observational humour Peter is for suitable female, male and mixed audiences alike and through his story telling ability is able paint a wonderful picture that brings the countryside hilariously to life. |
